About the procedure
Reduction mammoplasty offers a clear path to achieving your physical goals and enhancing your overall well-being. Our dedicated team will ensure your results reflect your needs all while enhancing your quality of life.
How It’s Done
The method for reducing breast size uses three incisions: one around the areola, the second vertically from the bottom edge of the areola to the crease under the breast, and the third along the curve of the breast crease. Your surgeon will inform you which variations of these incisions are best for you.
After excess skin and breast tissue are removed, the nipple and areola are moved to a higher position. Skin that was located above the nipple pre-surgery is pulled down. Together, these two maneuvers give the breast a new shape. Liposuction may also be employed if necessary.
What a Breast Reduction Can’t Do
Breast reduction cannot correct sagging breasts on its own; breast lift techniques are often used in conjunction. It also won’t eliminate all scars or stretch marks. Your surgeon will discuss the best approach to achieve your desired results.
How Much Does it Cost
Typically covered under Alberta Health Care
Liposuction of under arm tissue may be added for addition cost (starting at $1,000 + GST)
