CHRISTIAAN SCHRAG MD, FRCSC
Dr. Christiaan Schrag completed his undergraduate and medical degrees at Queen’s University, Kingston in 1995 and 1999 respectively. His plastic surgery residency training was carried out at the University of Calgary until 2004. He went on to finish an extra year of fellowship training specializing in microsurgical head and neck reconstruction and brachial plexus surgery at the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan.
His areas of expertise include plastic surgery of the face and breast. His research interests include improving patient outcomes using care pathways and face and hand vascularized composite tissue allotransplantation. When time permits, Dr. Schrag volunteers overseas to help others. He has worked with Smile Train in Pakistan, Operation of Hope in Zimbabwe and Broken Earth in Haiti.
He is a consultant plastic surgeon at the Foothills Medical Centre, Clinical Assistant Professor and currently the Microsurgery Fellowship Program Director.
