A Breast Lift is Best For:
- Correcting sagging or drooping breasts
- Restoring a youthful breast shape
- Improving breast symmetry
- Elevating nipples to a more natural position
- Enhancing overall body contour after pregnancy, breastfeeding, or weight loss
About the procedure
Mastopexy surgery raises and firms the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support the new breast contour. Sometimes, the areola becomes enlarged over time, and a breast lift can reduce this as well. Overall, a breast lift will rejuvenate your figure with a youthful and uplifted breast profile.
How It’s Done
There are variations to the incisions used for breast lifting. The traditional method of lifting the breast uses 3 incisions: one around the areola, the second vertically from the bottom edge of the areola to the crease under the breast and the third along the natural curve of the breast crease. Your plastic surgeon will inform you which incisions are most appropriate for you.
After the excess skin is removed, the nipple and areola are moved to a higher position. Skin that was located above the nipple pre-surgery is pulled down. Together these two maneuvers give a new shape to the breast. Liposuction may also be used to improve the contour under the arm.
What a Breast Lift Can’t Do
Breast lift surgery does not significantly change the size of your breasts or round out the upper part of your breast. If you want your breasts to look fuller, consider breast lift and augmentation surgery. If you want smaller breasts, consider combining breast lift and reduction surgery.
How Much Does it Cost

- You are bothered by the feeling that your breasts sag, have lost shape and volume
- Your breasts have a flatter, elongated shape or are pendulous
- When unsupported, your nipples fall below the breast crease
- Your nipples and areolas point downward
- You have stretched skin and enlarged areolas
A woman’s breasts often change over time, but that doesn’t mean you have to accept those changes if they don’t reflect how you feel inside. You deserve to feel comfortable and confident in your own skin, and our team can help.
